Sunny Day Salvage Offers Lots of Warmth on a Chilly Evening!

Hello there! It was a busy last night, and I didn’t get a chance to post this blog. So here’s a report from Thursday’s art event.

Baby, it’s cold out there!
Warming up after a chilly but delightful evening on the patio at Sunny Day Salvage in Fairfax. If you haven’t popped in to this new store yet, hustle yourself right on over to School Street and enjoy an eclectic mix of funky, fun, and delightfully original goodies to wear, display, give as gifts, or keep for yourself.
Despite the evening chill, last night’s Pop-Up on the Patio with Bean Up The Nose Art, Bogi Studios, and Jewelry by Sarah was lots of fun. It is so inspiring to hang out with artistic gals who are committed to, and enthusiastic about, their art.
We’re all finding ways to make it (and make it happen), whether squeezed in while juggling the responsibilities of a day job or two; eking out moments in between taking care of kids, spouses, and homes; or getting up much earlier than needed to steal that quiet, creative time, no matter what.

Sometimes — okay, many times — it’s not easy. But the rewards are just so real. I’m certain that all of us on the patio last night have experienced that low-level (or very high-level) buzz of adrenaline and rush of creativity that makes sleep impossible.
That buzz forces us to get up before the alarm goes off, exercise in the dark, or stay up until the sun sends streaks across the horizon. The steady, dream-interrupting hum of delicious energy and ideas won’t be quieted until it is acknowledged, listened to, and obeyed.

I just love the buzz.
How about you?
